    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Pinsent Masons Vacation Scheme provided me with invaluable experience in a commercial law firm and in a contentious department that I had not sat in before. I was given a choice of departments and being able to sit in one of my preferred choices meant that I really enjoyed the work I was getting involved with and that my background knowledge helped me to understand the type of work I was completing. Everyone is super friendly and there is good amounts of feedback available if you seek it out!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • 100% valued. Everyone in my team took the time to introduce themselves and get to know me - allowing me to quickly settle in and feel comfortable in the team. Grad recruitment is very supportive and efficient in answering any queries that I had which again made me feel very welcomed to the firm.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received the correct amount of guidance and support throughout the process, having an email from my Trainee buddy before joining the form really helped me prepare and I always had a line of contact to follow for help and support when working on matters for Trainees, Solicitors, Senior Associates and Partners.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have graduated University now but the scheme will definitely help me going forward to study the LPC, my knowledge of the practical side of the law has increased dramatically and my research on tools such as PLC will also come in useful.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well structured with an induction in London to help all on the scheme settle in. There was practice group presentations throughout the two weeks allowing some insight into different departments that I was not sat in. There were plenty of social events with Trainees, right the way up to Partner level giving me exposure to a vast variety of people in all different departments and of all different levels.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • General atmosphere from the firm was supportive, professional and friendly. I got on well with other vacation scheme students, playing Netball one of the evenings with other vac schemers and a few of the trainees, paralegals and partners in the firm. It is a real testament to the firm how friendly everyone is and it is certainly a big selling point of the firm to me!
