The Role
I have enjoyed my placement year at Vauxhall very much. You are given alot of responsibility and the work you do has a genuine impact on the organisation.
Your are made to feel like a full time member of the team. I was given meaningful tasks and alot of responsibility and my team was always there to support me if need be
Support and guidance was always available when needed. They like for you to try and get the job done but if you are having any trouble they are extremely approachable and supportive
On a daily basis i was rather busy. With the ammount of responsibility you are given it does take up alot of your time but it makes the day go by faster
Throughout my placement i was given various tasks with lots of responsibility. I doubt there was a placement elsewhere that could of given me the level of responsibility Vauxhall have
The skills and training i have received will definitely help my employability for future graduate jobs
The Company
The atmosphere in the office is normally rather lively and the people are very helpful and supportive
My placement year was very well organised and i knew what was expected of me right from handover
Vauxhall put you through several in house training courses, such as software training and presentational training
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Vauxhall always keep in mind previous undergraduates when a potential role appears
The Culture
As there are around 80 undergraduates in the Luton area, the weekends were never dull or boring
The cost of living is rather cheap, and so is socialising in the local area
The nightlife in the area is rather dull. there are not many places to go in Luton but there are several different areas just outside of Luton that are always good. i.e St Albans, Watford, London
During handover period there are many activites you can get involved in outside of work. It does die down a little after this but there is always something you can involved with
