The Role
Skills learnt are invaluable, often busy with individual work
Everyone very friendly - very few people of similar age so always seen as colleagues
Full support and plenty of time to do uni work whilst at work. Wanted me to do well.
usually busy but some days with very little to do as lots of admin work a student couldn't do
Quite a lot, but always someone there to help
Excellent experience within industry and labs but also with customer communication and seeing how an organisation really works.
The Company
Everyone friendly and very good. Sometimes very quiet/hard working as only one student
Organised self - not really a plan when I first started, just odd jobs to do but slowly got into the swing of things
Safety training very important. Even skills I wouldn't use I still got training in case I had to deal with situations in the future
Very small company. A PhD necessary for job role I'd be interested in and not sure it's for me
The Culture
Reasomably good. Out for dinner every couple of weeks but few people my age
Lived at home so very cheap for me. Reasonable living costs I believe
Newcastle has lots going on at night
Not at work but within the city, yes
