The Role
Was really good and enjoyed the job role which has shown me what I want to do in the future. I was given a large amount of responsibility which allowed me to be valued within the team. It has been very valuable to show what a real working environment is like and show what department I would like to work in in the future.
Felt very valued by colleagues as was given high levels of responsibility and got on with everyone within the team. This meant that I enjoyed coming into work and getting on with the tasks on a daily basis.
I have been givn a lot of suppport by Managers as the department is very fast moving and is tasks needed to be done quickly. I have always wanted to ask for help and not felt like I couldnt ask for help with any of my task.
I am very busy which i enjoy, I always have enough work to be getting on with or would always ask if anything else could be done. At times the workload is very high but I get support from Managers to make the tasks more manageable
I wes given a lot of responsibility and this showed very valued within the organisation.I feel like the tasks in which i contributed definately benifited the department as it has been shown in the CAP process being well praised by Managers. I have been given projects and specific tasks which are constant improvement or reporting and systems which we use on a daily basis. I was trusted in handling large volumes of important and confidential data, this made me feel really valued within the team and allowed me to understand the industry as a whole.
I think the placement years will definately benefit me after uni and will benefit me into gaining a graduate job as there is alot more information in which i can talk about within an interview than there was before. I feel alot more confident with presentation skills and some of the skills created and improved with being at Vauxhall will really benefit me with my CV as well as my degree and after when i am looking for a graduate role in the future.
The Company
The atmosphere within the office is very good as there is a large proportion of UG working within the same department and when we started everyone seemed to be in the same boat starting at the same time. I got on with everyone in the team as you have to work with your team on a daily basis as well as other UG's surrounding the company within different area.
The placement is very well organised with the inductions that we had when we first came to Vauxhall and it allowed us to get to know people as well as find accomadation for the year placement. The 2 week handover period where we had a different activity on every night allowed us to get to know alot of the people who we are friends with now in a variety of activities from Going out to the undergrad football match so it gets you talking to a variety of different people throughout the start of the placment. There have been excel training as part of my job role is based on excel which is very useful.
I feel the company has benefited me as i have had the ability to go out with field team and see what different people within the department do which has definately benefited me and my job role.

There isnt many UG who come back as graduates so therfore you cant really say what the future job prospects there are within the organsiation.
The Culture
There is a very good social scene at vauxhall as there are 80 UG based in Luton and we have been to various towns and cities in the UK as well as in Europe with trips to Bratislava and Bansko. The only downside is Luton doesnt have a great social side, however with ST Albans, Milton Keynes and London only a train away its not to expensive or Long trips.
The rent what i pay is £240 a month which is alot cheaper than what i paid at uni which was a nice.
The nightlife isnt great as the only club has shut however you are in close proximaty to London so you caan go into London which is 25 minutes away.
There were alot of opportunities to get involved in activities out of work with UG and with Work, with Vauxhall being the sponsers of the national football had the opportunities to go to Wembeley and retail conferences.
