The Role
Throughly enjoyed my placement at Triumph Motorcycles.
From the start you are made to feel valued by your colleagues. All of my projects have been useful for my team and have been interesting work.
Guidance and supervision is given to you throughout your placement. More help is given at the start as you learn the ropes but as your placement continues you will be required to structure your own time and ensure that you meet your deadlines.
I am very busy on a daily basis. You will be given many projects to balance simultaneously which keeps you busy and forces you to manage your time efficiently. At times you could have some free time but a quick ask around the team for any work will provide you with enough work to last the next month.
I have had good amounts of responsibility for non-qualified engineer. I have been given projects that will influence OE bikes and work that has had important deadlines to meet.
I have learnt vast amounts on this placement and have used lots of the work I have done in my degree in my work. I have also been able to see many aspects of my degree used in different areas of work.
The Company
It is a very friendly atmosphere where you feel comfortable to ask questions to any of your colleagues.
When you join your team leader will have some projects already set-up for you to start. During your placement you will be given enough work to keep you busy.
At the start you are given enough training to allow you to do most work on your placement. During the year you will also have more courses available to you for further development.

There are good promotions to aim for as a full time employee.
The Culture
The cost of living is relatively low in this area. It also has good transport connection to get to major cities easily.
The nightlife is not the best in Hinckley but Leicester is very close so you can easily go there for a good nightlife or shopping.
There are team activities and different competitions within the design department to be involved in.
