    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My placement within Triumph was enjoyable in all areas as it has gave me a firm foundation of knowledge to support my degree in Human Resources Management. The experience that was offered has been brilliant for future employment.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • During my 14 month industrial placement I found that my colleagues valued my hard work. This has been seen through extending my 12 month initial contract to 14. My colleagues have also adapted the support given to each placement student within HR, dependant on their particular needs.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support was given from my manager throughout the whole of my placement enabling me to gain the most of my time at Triumph Motorcycles. The guidance that was given showed integral in a very fast paced and demanding environment.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were periods in which I was very busy before Christmas. During these periods I gained support from my manager who told me what my priority was. My placement had different demands dependant on the months (some busier than others).

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was responsible for all the industrial placement recruitment. This is from sending CV's to managers, setting up testing and running assessment centres. I am very proud of this achievement and was glad to be given the responsibility.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There were various activities which supported the development in my university course and this included writing an effective business style report. Not only will this be used at university but is a skill which can be used in future employment.
