    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Was a very interesting year but experiences and opportunities varied greatly depending on which department you worked in and which managers you working with,

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was lucky to work and have an extremely good rappor with my managers and peers.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • It was sometimes hard to get in touch with personal development managers, but there is a very tight support structure in place meaning that you always have the chance to have meetings and catch up with managers.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Was generally busy although a number of the tasks were very repetitive on a daily/weekly cycle.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Over the year my responsibility within my department grew greatly once I had gained the trust of my peers.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Have picked up a number of transferable skills, mainly people management skills which I will value for the future.

  • The year was well structured and organised although experiences compared to collegues varied greatly.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They mainly invested enough to push the company image and make you want to return in the future, but at times this was limited.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • For business management side which I am interested in they are extremely limited.

    2/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social side was the highlight of the year, from having 60 placement students based in the same location there was always something going on.

  • Was very limited, I wouldn't recommend Portsmouth nightlife to anyone.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were some, I was involved in Sunday Football and also other football clubs, but a lot of this was off my own back.
