  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A lot of interesting things to do most days, but some were slow.

  • Was always made to feel welcome, and a valued part of the team.

  • Always willing to help where needed.

  • Mostly given time to work at my own pace, but there were times when results were needed very quickly.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was responsible for the day-to-day running of the lab I was in, and was able to order things where needed.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • A lot of useful new programming and experimental skills gained.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Quite a good office, but was occasionally quiet due to conferences.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • HR took a while to get round to organising a proper contract, but was at a very busy time of graduate recruitment.

  • They were willing to send me on the neccessary courses for me to do my job well, and others that held interest to me.

  • Able to secure a graduate placement with them next year (hopefully!)

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Not a lot of interaction with other students through my choice, but was good where possible.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Oxford prcing made things quite expensive, but cheaper alternatives were availible.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The town where I lived was dead after 9pm, but nearby Oxford had plenty to go to.

  • LOts of local clubs availible, if you like the ones on offer.
