  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Best company to have an IT placement. I very much enjoyed my placement year with Caterpillar.

  • From day to the last day of my placement year, my colleagues made me feel as part of the team.

  • Throughout my placement I was able to rely on my colleagues, my supervisors, team leader and Manager for anything i felt i could not handle on my own or was beyond my capabilities.

  • Perfect Balance. There was always something to do in my department. Everyday was a different challenge.

  • I was given a fair amount of responsibilities at the start of my placement and more were added as I showed more enthusiasm and confidence as time went on.

  • some of the skills I learnt will be used in the implementation of my FYP.

  • The general atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and also professional.

  • Very appealing. The placement students do get called back for internships which after completion they became full employees.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We had events organised and got the entire department involved. Also had a mini project run by the placement students.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Fairly ok, dependence on the individual spending.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Fantastic night outs

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Constant events were being planned nearly every week.
