About You
Information learnt was very interesting except a bit repetitive and sometimes tedious eg. Self reflection but the activity was not stimulating enough to reflect on
Welcoming and friendly and approachable
We had a full timetable which was accurate
Very very useful to progress into teaching career
The Company
Quite structured however our school Placement was not confirmed until 1 week before the programme so the school didn't have very long to prepare activities for us compared to other groups who had home visits and extensive tours and info
Sometimes felt uncomfortable and unhappy due to attitude of other girls towards me
Very much committed to employing us in the future We had workshops about how to succeed and about learning the teach first vision You get fast tracked onto assessment centre if you complete the programme
Very useful For getting more information and accurate info about teachfirst Told us about all the application and assessment and then the decision of how they choose their candidates
Very useful I learnt a lot about teach first and what it actually does and how Learnt all about funding and their mission and how committed they are to their work
Very useful This insight programme will tell you everything you need to know about teach first - I thought I knew plenty but I actually learnt so much I didn't know You will get a real taste of what teach first would be like They run events like ' applying to LDP' and how to succeed at the assessment centre and give you practise of micro lessons with feedback which are part of assessment centre process
Everything Else
Had to pay for own travel - quite expensive to and from London I was reimbursed for interview ( travel upto £35) All accommodation provided however not close to school - hotel in Sheffield but school in Barnsley Lunch and breakfast included which was great Paid £500 No evening meals which became expensive in London - no kitchen or microwave etc
Constant networking which was great and provided honest and invaluable knowledge
Very helpful , after each talk we could network with the recruiters who would help us and give us advice about applying to LDP
Yes lots such as social enterprises and becoming a graduate recruiter
If definite about teaching and even more definite about teach first then 100% - fast tracked to assessment centre and learn invaluable teaching info and also teaching experience
