  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • A really friendly group of staff made the Glasgow office relaxed and enjoyable.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • By the end of the placement I felt like a proper member of the firm and was being given a wide variety of work.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Through the use of trainee buddies, supervisors and regular interaction from graduate recruitment and senior staff a lot of advice was offered and there was never a time I felt like I had no-one to ask.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The placement has set me up well for any potential future traineeships but offering an insight into the skills and work involved in a commercial law firm.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Given a timetable of the entire placement on the first day was great as it meant that I always knew what to expect going into the office everyday. Practise presentations most mornings offered a full insight into the firm and partner/trainee lunches and the social events ensured that we met a range of people with different experiences at the firm.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Friendly and welcoming!

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Full IT training was given to ensure that over the placement we would have full use of the facilities Pinsent Masons offers.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Through a variety of events I have gained an insight into all areas the firm operates in, despite only having experience of working in one department. Spending 3 weeks with a firm is also more realsitic and honest in comparison with singular networking events when a firm is generally tending to sell itself as opposed to offering an honest oversight.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The firms values and visions were clearly supported by staff across the company and are not just aims but already part of the culture.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • 5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Being paid for the placement helped me feel like a real trainee and part of the firm - had the placement not been paid it would have been difficult to partake in given the time I required to take off from my full-time work.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Presentations from different departments most mornings and a partner lunch halfway through gave great opportunities to meet more senior employees, alongisde the more casual social events hosted by current trainees.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Mainly informal and relaxed!

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Opportunities were well advertised and I was actually given the chance while on placement to get involved with a corporate responsiblity event.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • A great, well-rounded experience which offers a lot in the space of 3 weeks!

    5/5
