About You
Very lean teams at Shearman. Therefore, was able to get involved with some actual work that was important to the transactions including sending e-mails, drafting agreements etc
You are given a mentor and a trainee buddy. They are there to help you with any questions. Grad rec are also extremely approachable with any queries you may have
Invaluable experience for anyone considering a career as a corporate solicitor
The Company
very well structured. Exactly the right balance between presentations, real work experiences and fun activities!
very friendly and approachable bunch of people from the trainees through to the partners.
There wasn't as much formal training, more training through feedback.
Everything Else
Several drinks and lunches. Also able to meet people from different departments through the speed meet. However, usually the lunches and socials were between you and your mentors. If you wanted to meet more people you had to approach them.
Underground cookery class, firm drinks, several lunches, Duck & Waffle dinner and schemer drinks
