    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was a useful and pleasant insight into what it would be like to work for the firm.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone, from Partner down to Trainee, was very friendly and would happily chat to me on the same level.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Everyone was more than willing to help me with anything I was stuck on.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The placement was more about getting work experience than getting better at studying. But that's its purpose, so the question is a little unfair.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Much better than another insight I undertook this summer at a different firm.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Friendly, but not laugh out loud fun the whole time - but I never expected that from a City law firm.

    3/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The placement was more about getting a flavour for the firm and its work rather than training students, but that is what I wanted in the short time I had with the firm.

    3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It was very useful to see what trainees and more serior lawyers did day-to-day, and to help in little ways with thei work.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • It was very useful as the placement allowed me to meet various kinds of people in the firm on an informal level to get a proper feel for what it would be like to work there.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • 4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • £250 per week

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were a few short talks by trainees and junior lawyers, and two organised socials, which were helpful. More of the same would have ben nice.

    3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The two that were organised were very nice - a cocktail making class and a dinner.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We had a CSR presentation, got to talk to lawyers and could get involved in some CSR whilst there if we had the time.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • It was a very friendly and honest insight into the firm. I definitely got out of it what I wanted.
