The Role
I was given a higher level of responsibily than expected, which was good and allowed me to develop and made the role enjoyable.
Everyone in the company is extremely welcoming and always willing to help, hard work and achievement is easily recognised also. My direct team were very supportive and great fun to work with.
My manager always provided me with help and guidance whenever I needed it. Not only this but she was fully supportive in me making the most of my year, encouraging me to go on field team visits and spending time in other departments.
Work can vary, however I had a good mix of daily and adoc tasks. Towards the end of the month/start of new month can be quite hectic but over the year I learned how to manage my tasks.
Level of responsibily was higher than I first expected which is good as you are treated like a full time employee. I was made aware from the beginning that my work can be used to help make important decisions in the company.
I have developed some skills which I feel will be very useful in any future careers, basic ones like telephone, email, general communication skills, and more advanced ones like presentation and excel. We receieve this training as part of the undergraduate scheme which I found very useful. In terms of my final year studies, I will be able to use my time management skills to help in studying and prioritising tasks.
The Company
Lots of fun people to entertain you!
Extremely organised from start to finish. A lot better when compared to other companies.
Anything I wanted to do, in terms of outside my job role was fully supported by members of staff. Vauxhall do value the placement students and want you to make the best of the year.

There isn't a graduate scheme so Job roles arise as and when, however if you impress your team and you make it clear you are interested in working for Vauxhall again they may contact you.
The Culture
As there are so many placement students there is always something to do and social scene is like uni!
I lived at home so living and socialising was very reasonable.
Luton is pretty rubbish for nights out but neighboroughing towns like St. Albans and Watford are good, and its really easy to get into London.
