    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had a fantastic year at Hays, it was definitely a struggle but i expect every placement job is. I had good days and very bad days but overall i did enoy my placement year very much.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was not treated like an intern at all, i felt very valued and an equal. My colleagues were exceptionally friendly and helpful and they trusted me with a large workload and by the end of the year they were even asking for my help and advice!

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was very helpful and supportive. At times she was too busy to help me but i know that she had a lot to do so it was ok. My colleagues were always more than happy to help though. I had regular meetings to discuss my targets and how i was doing to i felt the guidance and support was very good.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This was very difficult to answer! there were some days where i was exceptionally busy with a constant workload and then there were days when i had absolutely nothing to do. However, there are always calls to be made and things to do so i suppose it was up to me to make myself busy.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was obviously some quiet days (mainly mondays!) but overall the office atmosphere was very live. Everyone is very fun and talkative and the office is always buzzing with people on the phone. The atomosphere in the office is very fun.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Not so much of a social scene between placement students but the culture of the business is really young so i socialised with my colleagues who i worked close with rather than my fellow placement students.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home but i know living in london is very expensive. Going out for drinks and dinners is extremely expensive in London so a night out could sometimes come to over £100. However Hays offered lots of incentive nights out which were paid for and Hays employees got a 10% discount at the pub next door.
