    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The team at Linklaters were great during Pathfinder. They went the extra mile to ensure that I learnt as much as possible during Pathfinder.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Though I was there for only two days the trainees during the work shadowing helped get me stuck in. They clearly had put effort in giving me something to do, which has helped give me a greater understanding of what the legal profession entails.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Guidance was available throughout. The graduate recruitment team answered all my questions about both the firm and the application process.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The key skills i developed were definitely in how i present myself. I never thought how much subconscious we use in passing judgment on ourselves which i realised in the personal branding session. This i have definitely taken away to enhance my image for future use.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Everything from the social events to all the activities including work shadowing were organised with thought paid to every activity. What was interesting to me was that at every point the graduate team would ask how to improve on every activity informally. This to me showed a real commitment to self-improvement on what to me was already outstanding

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I really got a good understanding of the culture in Linklaters. This was the key thing i wanted to find out as i wasn't sure whether the horror stories about the magic circle were reflective in their culture. The reality is if you are ambitious and hardworking Linklaters is the place which will push your development. Though there is no "Linklaters type" everyone is social and wants to do the best they can.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • For a two day scheme I was surprised how much effort and resources the firm committed. I couldn't ask for more at all.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • They did everything they could especially through the work shadowing in two different practice areas. This really showed what a trainee actually does in their job. It was a great experience.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I feel I completely understand the culture as much is possible within a two day scheme. It's a great place to work and it does challenge you everyday.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I did not need any money for expenses but they paid as was needed

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • I met a range of employees at all levels and was consistently meeting people in different practice areas as well.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The evening social event was great. I have always wanted to make a proper pizza and make sushi. This was also a great way to then sit down and speak to the graduate team and also other pathfinder attendees and get to know them.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • The firm has lots of sports and team trips. Some trainees are part of everything just to go abroad. It's what you make of it.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • This is the best way to find out and learn about Linklaters.
