The Role
In the beginning it was really tough, we worked long hours, 7days a week and perfection was key. The hard work was totally worth it when we all got to go to Paris for the show. After that the studio was much more relaxed and as time when on my tasks got more and more interesting as I gained more responsibility.
After the show, as I was given more varied and complex tasks I was able to prove myself and gain the trust of my colleagues. Time is very important in such a high paced environment so the staff need to feel they can rely on you to do the job properly, I feel I became more and more valued as time went on.
My supervisor was always supportive and friendly.
We were all extremely busy in the first two months of the internship but this is true of most fashion design companies. After we were given some well earned time off to say thank you.
I feel I was stretched to learn new skills and kept motivated. I was given the right level of responsibility for my role.
I have worked with amazingly talented people who have shared their wisdom and tips with me which are priceless. Also the experience of working with such an influential British icon will stay with me forever.
The Company
There was always something going on, it was never dull!
It was all a bit hectic at the beginning because so many new interns started at once and it was a busy time, but we learnt from the 'older' interns quickly.
The employees and free lance staff were more than willing to go that extra step to explain something more and help you learn. I think they really appreciate people who want to learn and are very happy to help you.

The Culture
The other interns really made my placement; they were all so friendly and made the late nights and weekends of work fun and pass by quicker. I made great friends there.
As I was living in London, (unpaid!) funds were very tight! But in such a great city there were always cheap or free things to do in my spare time.
In Battersea it is quite limited, there are a couple of pubs which are great for after work socialising but with buses and the tube it is easy to get to more exciting places in London.
