  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Really enjoyed the experience, getting to know everyone else on the programme and getting to know the school I was working at.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

    • TeachFirst definitely valued us being there. After observing so many lessons at school I felt we could have taught more lessons ourselves but the teachers were grateful to have us.

    • three full days of training before heading into the schools

    • definitely developed worthwhile skills: communication, leadership, planning and organising

    • there was a clear timetable for each day

    • everyone on the programme was so friendly and made the experience ten times better

    • we learnt loads about TF and its values

    • I now know I don't want to go into teaching but I'm glad I gave it a go!

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • they paid for us to stay in a hotel for 10 nights and for lunch and dinner out each day

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • there was meant to be a networking session at the end of the last day but that never happened

    • we went out for dinner every evening and went out a couple of nights in Manchester which was fun

    • extra-curricular clubs at school

    • if you want to have a shot at teaching this is the perfect opportunity
