About You
Really enjoyed the experience, getting to know everyone else on the programme and getting to know the school I was working at.
TeachFirst definitely valued us being there. After observing so many lessons at school I felt we could have taught more lessons ourselves but the teachers were grateful to have us.
three full days of training before heading into the schools
definitely developed worthwhile skills: communication, leadership, planning and organising
The Company
there was a clear timetable for each day
everyone on the programme was so friendly and made the experience ten times better
they gave v useful training sessions
invaluable insight into what the LDP would be like
we learnt loads about TF and its values
I now know I don't want to go into teaching but I'm glad I gave it a go!
Everything Else
they paid for us to stay in a hotel for 10 nights and for lunch and dinner out each day
there was meant to be a networking session at the end of the last day but that never happened
we went out for dinner every evening and went out a couple of nights in Manchester which was fun
extra-curricular clubs at school
if you want to have a shot at teaching this is the perfect opportunity
