About You
It was an amazing company to work for. They have a great ethos and treated us really well. The toughest bit as a student, was getting up so early in the mornings.
Everyone studied similar degrees at top universities and had the same vision in mind. It was very east to get on with people and share thoughts and opinions.
We were told about things that even we wouldn't have thought to ask. They were very detailed and the training was intense. No time was wasted at all. We had a visit while we were on our placement and teach first teachers at the school so we were never alone.
It tailors my career path more than enhance my degree. I now understand how the subject knowledge I gain from my degree can help me in teaching.
The Company
From the teach first side, everything was perfect but on the school's side, there were bits missing at times. However, everyone was friendly and wikkibg to help.
All of the teach first staff have so much energy inside as well as outside of the classroom. Applying STEM theories to everyday problems made teaching a lot a easier and understand a lot more accessible for the children.
Self reflection was used so that we could plan what our strengths and weaknesses were.
A lot of freedom was given to us so it was easy to see what responsibilities would fall on my shoulders.
Being surrounded by everyone made it all easier to understand.
I now know the struggles that face a teacher from having had experience there.
Everything Else
The ambassadors are all happy to talk to you and the company is very big on feedback so opinions are highly valued.
Not necessarily enough time to talk to everyone but very useful.
As long as teaching is something you would consider for a short period of time, its worth a go.
