    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • the placement is going ok, sometimes I'm a bit bored but it's a good experience.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • all colleagues were nice, supportive, friendly, there for me. I'm glad I had such a good team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management are helpful and give me some good work to get on with.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Fairly busy - sometimes no work. But I find stuff to keep me occupied like reading or touring the site!

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I wasn't really given any responsibility, however I think I will have some on a grad scheme if I reapply.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • What I've learnt should help me for the future. Some of the non-engineering stuff (like teaching me finance) may have been a waste of time...

    2/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Friendly office, always people to talk to. Move around the site a lot and meet new staff.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Setup well - knew who I was at least! Manager not always in, other students sometimes "skive-off". But its ok.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Some training was provided - mostly online which isn't very appealing.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They like taking previous students/those with experience. Hence I'll have a good chance.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • This was the best bit: I got on well with other students and we still go out a lot, particularly at weekends.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Bristol is ok, average really. Shared with three others, total cost £225 each.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Quite a bit to do - not by Rolls Royce but in the Mall/town.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Occassionally, the company would organise a party every quarter. Otherwise, I just went out with other students.

    4/5
