    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • There were some difficulties but overall it was a very positive experience.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • People from all over the company were very welcoming and a pleasure to be around.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • They were very understand of it being your first time in industry and worked around that by offering help and encouraging learning around the company.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • For the most part the workload was about right. There were times either working to a deadline where there was probably a little too much and with a lack of projects where there was not enough but these situations were rare.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was trusted to make my own decisions on my projects as well as other choices within the company.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I learnt have already been useful in my final year project and will be even more useful when working in the field.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Overall I felt the atmosphere was positive. The staff were all very nice but there is still an importance in it being a place of work.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The company have used placement students for a long time so understand what to expect from the students and how to utilise their skills.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt free and encouraged that improving myself and my work was important to the company and I could spend time achieving this when time was not tight.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I did not talk directly with the company but feel my chances would be improved after the placement.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The company is fairly small and only look to take on a few placement students at a time so it is completely dependent how you get along with one other student.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Overall the area is quite cheap, I didn't have too many difficulties I an flat to myself with the help of a student loan. I benefited by being turning 21 very early in the placement which gave me a minimum wage rise, budgeting would have been harder without this.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There is not much of a nightlife in Littlehampton at all, Chichester is an improvement but still not great. While a bit long winded their are good train links to Portsmouth or London.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are things to do in the area depending on your interests as well as during my placement company football.

    4/5
