About You
An interesting insight day; I learned a lot about the FCA, what it does and the type of work that graduates do there
It was only a one day event, so difficult to judge
We were given plenty of information about the organisation and about the various career paths on offer
Not related to my degree studies, and as it was only a one day event I didn't have the chance to develop any particular skills
The Company
Very well structured (especially considering the FSA was at the time undergoing the split to the FCA and PRA), with a variety of different events throughout the entire day
The atmosphere was decent
Since this was a one day event only, there was no chance for training or development, but I believe the graduate scheme offers comprehensive training
Through a case study and Q&A session with current employees, I got a pretty good idea of what it would be like to work there as well as the type of work I'd be doing - both on a day-to-day basis and on a more holistic level
Didn't really have much of a chance to gauge company culture
I had already decided on a different career path, but it was still useful to learn about the FCA anyway
Everything Else
Travel expenses reimbursed
There were opportunities to talk to some current grads and HR
There was some time for networking at the end of the event
No - the insight day was mostly a chance to find out more about the different career options available at the FCA
Yes - it was very structured and well-organised, and quite different from other organisations within the financial services sector
