The Role
Enjoyable on most days
On a trading desk its very much a meritocracy, you have to prove yourself to be of value to be valued.
Light touch management, as long as I didn't get any complaints I was to assume I was doing my job well.
Very busy in the mornings, less so in afternoon
Trading was based on the prices I came up with, so could lose a lot of money if my work was inaccurate.
Strongly excel based.
The Company
Relaxed, nice office environment for a trading floor
Very new company and not a lot of structure around the internship.
Got trainng about the different industries and activities they dealt with. Little in terms of transferable training.
Subsidised Canteen
Above 25 days holiday
Have not had that conversation yet, although they do offer a grad program.
The Culture
Grad class of 15-16 people.
London is extremely expensive and the offices are not in the cheapest area
Nice area, nice pubs
Football, some networking events
