The Role
First 6 months very slow and not what was expecting as an engineering student. The company suites to office way of life and analyst skills only seem envolve maths as a statistical skill requirement. Not the place to be for a hands on person / hands dirty person.
Again my team kept to themselves, I worked along a second team in the new year and enjoyed it much more and felt valued with them. Overall neutral.
For general things, Dstl have issues with management and guidance and set up of new workers not only for placement students but company wide. My personal project supervisor at the end for last few months was great, its down to luck.
First six months very slow. I never had a point where I had no work however.
Neutral, you can choose how much much of a project you wish to be responsible for.
I personally felt very little was learnt in terms of actual skills for my degree or modules when returning but it did help report writing formatting to save me some time. I know more about myself and know office life is not for me which is useful.
The Company
Office environment, people look to the weekend everyday.
Had an initial set up project upon arrival.
I recieved no training at all.
I would consider working in a different field with the company, but not an office based job.
The Culture

Average pricing
