The Role
The internship was really enjoyable, I learnt a lot, was given a huge amount of responsibility and the people were fantastic.
Was instantly valued as one of team and given equal amounts of work and responsibility as every other team member.
My manager/team leader was always there when I needed help and supported me to learn about many other areas of the business by setting up meetings with other managers for me to knowledge share and learn more.
Quite often I was very busy, but busy enough that I felt the days went fast and I was never bored, but never too much that I felt over worked. I was always out at a decent time, but felt that I had a busy workload for the hours which I was at work.
Was given equal as much as the other team members. Was brilliant, was given my own case load from week one, was liaising with CEO's of major firms and was never made to feel like 'an intern'.
The amount of responsibility I was given meant that I developed an enormous amount of skills, and the training I received was so useful to every day work-life, and will be invaluable in my continued studies.
The Company
Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and I always enjoyed being at work. The atmosphere was positive and fun.
It was organised well but a changeover in HR meant that a lot of things changed mid-internship. I understand this will not be the case for future interns. Other than this the internship was set up well and the induction period was handled very well, and made it very enjoyable as we got to know all of the other interns. We got a 'community affairs day' towards the end of the internship where we all got to go and fix up a community centre together, this was really great.
We were allowed to go on any additional training we wished as long as our manager agreed. So a lot of training was available to us.

I would absolutely love the opportunity to gain a future graduate role with the FCA; we are all currently waiting on hearing from the company. The opportunities are definitely there as you get assessed at the end of the internship for the role.
The Culture
The interns were great and organised a lot of after work drinks/activities. We all got on really well.
I lived at home, so can't comment on that. Socialising wasn't cheap, but it's Canary Wharf- it's what you expect!
Canary Wharf has a really nice after work social scene in all of the bars. It's very busy, especially on a sunny day! And it's very close to the rest of London if you are interested in more nightlife.
Most of the activities I got involved in outside of work were organised amongst us interns. There were a few events put on by the social club but none put on by the company for the interns or by my team.
