    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • 5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • In my practice area I was given tasks that helped contribute to current transactions, which meant that I had a high level of responsibility from the outset and made the work that I did feel valued.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We were each allocated a trainee-buddy and a supervisor, which meant that we had a great level of support across different levels of seniority.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • 5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The placement was very well structured and it was clear that a lot of thought and effort had gone into the content of the placement.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was clear that everyone worked really hard but at the same time everyone was really friendly and welcoming. Given that there were only a few of us on the placement together we all became quite close early on into the scheme, which meant that the atmosphere was relaxed and fun.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm clearly invests heavily in training and developing the skill-set of its current trainees. Across the two weeks we were given the opportunity to demonstrate similar skills in order to assess whether we would be suited to the firm.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • 4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • 5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There are plenty of opportunities to meet other members of the firm - office drinks each Friday evening, a meal with the partners, social events with the other trainees and the chance to participate in sporting activities.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The highlight of the week was definitely a Cluedo bar-crawl, followed by a meal at a local restaurant, which was a great opportunity to socialise with the trainees and the other vac-schemers. The meal with some of the partners was a great way to find out more about the firm as well as chat to the partners on an informal basis.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There are a variety of activities members of the firm can become involved in, including sporting activities, social events and charity fundraisers.
