    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement at Vauxhall. Not only was the work aspect of the placement brillaint but they made sure there was a good social side to it too.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Towards the end of the placement I felt more like a full time employee than an undergradute which was a great feeling

  • I did spend some of my placement without a direct manager for different reasons but when I did have a manager he made sure I was always busy and looked to harness my strengths

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As with any jobs there were some days I was not busy however if I was ever without a task I would find one myself or my manager would.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Throughout the placement I was given more and more responisbility after I had proved each time I could handle it.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Although I did not develope any skills that could directly affect my course or modules it was the soft skills that I gained that were invaluable

  • There was a good sense of banter however the work ethic was high

  • As the placement scheme has run for many years it is pretty good and they are always asking the undergraduates what they can do to improve it

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We recieved a lot of training including training not relevant to our job role but somethings we could take back to uni.

  • Vauxhall spend the first 2 and last 2 weeks socialising

  • Luton is a very cheap place to live.

  • Was ok, I am from Bristol which is brillaint but it was not too bad, easy access to other towns and cities

  • Vauxhall organise lots of events including chartiy events we can get involved in
