    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed my work placement greatly, studying a media based course I found it diffiicult in my early months to grasp the complex product range and engineering systems. However with the help of a great team and a supportive organisation I was able to educate myself in a new field and excel in creative and challenging projects.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Being part of a small, regional office it is easy to become extremeley close to your colleagues. I was welcomed with open arms and never at any stage felt out of place. Having this comfort aloud me to learn and develop quickly.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I could not have asked for better management. Being able to learn from experienced proffesionals gave me the knowledge and the confidence to complete my work independently, the changes I have made over the past 12 months are quite remarkable, and it my managers played a key role in my development.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Towards the beggining of my placement I found it difficult to obtain a consistent work load. With my work being dominated by projects, my work load would fluctuate. Once you become more confident and have proven your abilitiys your work load will increase.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • After I had proved myself I was given a large amount of responsibility during my placement. I was in charge of developing different media for global tradeshow.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My placement has truly been an eye opening experience. I have been able to develop not only as a person but as an industry proffesional. I have learnt things about myself which I did not know I had. The education I have recieved over the last 12 months will not only help me complete my University degree but help prepare me for my career after I graduate.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office environment was extremely humorous, everyone got along which made it easier to work as a team!

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • As I was the first internship my office had a taken on it is only natural that there were gaps in the experience. Overall I think it was run well, but there were some opportunities for me to develop my knowledge further and unfortunatley it was not possible for me to do this.

    4/5
