    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great experience working for a huge company. CAT really value their employees and it shows

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It take a little while to settle into a company this big, and get to know everyone. Once you're settled and get your feet on the ground, its all hard work from there!

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • They'll challenge you to a level that they feel comfortable with all the support you'll need. There are so many people in the business there's always someone who can help you

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My workload fluctuated but I was always busy.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Growing responsibilities as more people get to know you and you start to familiarise yourself with the company

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The practical knowledge I've gained on this placement has helped me understand where I'd like to apply my degree in the future. I couldn't fault the experience

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great people to work with.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I was given various jobs to work on. I didn't have set goals to achieve by the end of the year and I actually preferred this. It gives you a better chance to see the company as a whole and direct your own training. You do need to be pro-active

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I got operator training for the product group that I work on. Most training would be considered on the job.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Above 25 days holiday

  • Awaiting a contract in the next month

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Graduates and other placement students give a decent social scene.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • There was an office night out every so often. Cost of living was as expected.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Leicester is okay, but there isn't anywhere else local for nighlife

    3/5
