  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed the placement year at Vauxhall! I was given a lot of responsibility and was exposed to lots of different environments within the business.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • In my team, my manager and other colleagues were so kind and great to work with everyday! They were always willing to help me out!

  • We are all assigned a mentor and CAP objectives to achieve.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It really varies. Some days I am extremely busy and others I have more time to organise my work space and finish tasks off etc.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility that I thrived off of having!

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • These skills, organisation, efficiency and time management, will definitely be very applicable to final year studies and the grad job. The Excel training received was also very beneficial!

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It really varied, great atmosphere with all the undergrads here!! However when deadlines are near the atmosphere can get pretty stressful, however this is really well balanced by the light hearted people in the team that made day to day working very enjoyable.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised there are lots of things for undergrads to get involved in and continued training that complimented our job roles. We also have 2 week handover period that was very beneficial.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were offered contiuned training in both Excel, Safe Driving and Powerpoint that was very beneficial.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love to come back and work at Vauxhall later in life. However as there is no set Grad scheme I think I will reevaluate the prospects here.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • It was great!!!! There are so many undergrads and we all live in the same area that the social life is great and there is always something going on!

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Luton and surrounding areas are really affordable and means that we don't have to waste too much on the cost of living!

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • We would often travel on nights out in and around Luton. London is also not a long train journey away so there are loads of opportunities to go on other nights out!

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Apart from nights out and gyms that undergrads go to there are not too many outside work activities. Apart from football for the lads!
