    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme was structured very well from the initial application, the information and support provided after acceptance and throughout the two weeks. The timetables were very clear for the week and we all knew where we were supposed to be and what we would be learning about in the day.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was a great general atmosphere on the programme. we all got to know each other very quickly and I felt like it was a great way to meet new people with similar attitudes and bond. There was the opportunity to do tasks in varying group sizes and mix around with new people. The staff were extremely friendly and treated us respectfully and really got involved with us at our level.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I think it was a great experience learning about what it would be like being a Teach First teacher but I would have liked more time in the schools and more opportunities to teach in the schools as I only had one lesson where I was in control.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • It was really helpful on the programme learning about Teach First and it's values and the problems of educational disadvantage. I think I am very familiar with the values and am excited to be a part of the movement.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I think the content was great in understanding how Teach First can benefit my career path and open doors for other opportunities aside from teaching. I feel like Teach First is a great starting point to develop skills from the challenges you face in the classroom to other sectors and will be great in rounding you for any career, be it in education or not.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Reimbursed for travel and given lunch during the training week and a lunch allowance when I was at school. Even sampled a school dinner on the first day!

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • We were able to chat to staff everyday who had all gone through the development programme themselves and who could offer great advice about what to expect and their experiences. We met more senior figures in the company too to hear about where the company aims to be in a few years.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • There was the opportunity to go for drinks with the staff and other participants during the training weeks and the other participants arranged to socialise during the whole 2 weeks.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We were given lots of information about summer placements and other work opporunities that we can get from Teach First. Ambassadors managed to give a more personal insight about what they did when they were on the development programme about who they lived with, what they did in their summer holidays etc.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I had such a great time and have already been encouraging my friends to look into the LDP with Teach First as I have had such a positive experience so far.
