    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The Pathfinders Scheme was an extremely insightful and informative one. There were several sessions which were both helpful and enjoyable, particularly the team building sessions and the business game exercise.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The people were very friendly. The two associates to whom I was allocated for the shadowing sessions were very supportive and willing to have a chat about a number of topics.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance and support. During the micro-shadowing sessions, the associates were always willing to discuss the project or work that I was working on as well as any other questions that I had for them.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The scheme gave me a great depth of insight not only into Linklaters as a firm, but also their various sectors. It really provided me with a good experience of the everyday routine and work undertaken by the people, whilst the scheme also included sessions on applications for future schemes and 'personal branding'.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The scheme was well-structured in terms of the objectives of the sessions.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The scheme was an informal one, so it was very easy to engage with the associates as well as the HR team about a range of topics relating to Linklaters.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Even though the scheme was for two days, the sessions were very useful in providing points for future development and personal training. The Personal Branding session was an extremely helpful session in developing your image and helping to best portray your skills and qualities to future employers.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The Q & A sessions alongside the micro-shadowing opportunities were hugely helpful in fully detailing the roles that you may have within the company or the firm. Not only can you learn about the daily routine and the company culture, but also the work done by the people.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The company culture really came across in all of the sessions. The associates and trainees always reiterated the importance of nurturing talent from a very early stage in the firm, which was done through a supportive network within the firm as well as the extensive training done in each role in the firm.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The Pathfinder scheme had reinforced my already strong desire to join a career in a City law firm. It was an extensive and insightful way of showcasing a law firm beyond its work, particularly its company culture and the interactions between the people in the firm.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I did not require any reimbursements for the experience.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were multiple networking sessions alongside the micro-shadowing opportunities during which the Pathfinder students could meet with other employees.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking and social events were informal and also fun. The networking events helped to introduce students to people who were not directly involved with the scheme, whilst the social event was a great way to end the first day with everyone taking part in a quiz.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes. There were multiple opportunities ranging from sports activities to religious and social forums for discussion of any issues.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would absolutely recommend any interested friends to apply for this insight scheme.
