The Role
Really enjoyed living in Dublin, great city. Enjoyed job but not 100% it is the line of business best suited for me.
As the placement progressed I was given more and more responsibility. After a few months I felt I had been there for much longer and people started to come to me for help. Was relied on to train new placement students for last two months of placement.
Work in small teams within the actuarial department and there is always somebody you can go to with queries and problems. Training happens largely at start of placement and then continuously throughout the placement, plenty to learn.
Very busy! Actuarial department at Capita is very busy and there's always something to be getting on with. This means the days go fast!
Increasing responsibility as I progressed through placement. Towards the end of the year had a large amount of responsibility including training new students.
Although I'm not sure it's the right line of work for me I greatly developed many skills especially proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
The Company
Generally very quiet office.
Company Parties/Events
The Culture
Plenty of events throughout the year including Christmas and summer parties, leaving parties, department lunches etc
Dublin is an expensive city to socialise in though is a great place to do it!
