The Role
Learnt quite a lot of new skills, and worked with some great people!
Worked with some great people, and got on very well with them! Still keep in touch.
Was given guidance and mentoring by a colleague, was taught well initially by being introduced to the task. During the placement, everyone was very approachable to ask questions.
Had a good amount of work, had a challenge and worked hard to complete it in my time there.
I was told that what I was doing was very important and was quite fundamental to the success of the project - this felt very rewarding!
Along with some bespoke skills to the company, I have learnt some great transferable skills.
The Company
We all got on well, but obviously everyone worked hard so the atmosphere reflected that.
Very organised, there were various events for the placement students, allowing us all to get to know each other, and the communication within the company was extremely easy.
Had some training in the version tracking software, which was usefull
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Will be returning next summer for another internship, really excited for this as I enjoyed working for them. Would love to work for them full time!
The Culture
Didn't feel like a placement student while I was there, I was made to feel very comfortable and welcome, and felt as though I was treat the same as a full time employee!
Canteen was subsidised, and the meals were very tasty! Not to mention good portion! (about £3 a meal). Of course, being in the London area, it can be a little expensive in areas if you venture out for socialisation.
The area the company is in is a very small village, so quite quiet, but it is 25mins into London on the train! So there is everything available there! (plus the train station is opposite the company site)
There was a sports and social club which always had events going on, at subsidised prices. Plenty going on!
