The Role
I was pretty much left to my own devices so I made the most of this - people who aren't very motivated may not get so much out of this placement.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, even in this recession where there jobs are in jeopardy, they made me feel like I'd been there for years.
They gave my the necessary guidance, but often I could maybe have done with a little more advice. Having said that it shows that they trusted me.
Some days I was rushed off my feet, others I didn't have a lot to do, but on average I was happy with the amount of work I had.
As I mentioned before I was pretty much left to my own devices, and my work was only edited very slightly. Towards the end of the placement it needed no editing at all.
I felt it was really helpful, and I learnt skills that I will most definitely be able to use in my future employment.
The Company
There was some high-jinks but mostly everybody knew what needed to be done and the time it would take.
I would say it is well set up, but I know others who have not been quite so involved.
Just a bit of education on editing my own work, and making the story exciting from a different angle.
I would love to work there when I finish my degree.
The Culture
We didn't go out as such, but we were very comfortable in each others presence and gave each other support.
It's expensive in some places, reasonable in others.
I liked it! Good bars and clubs.
But had I been there longer I may have got involved in some activites.
