  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Friendly environment, big desk, lots of opportunity to learn and grow.

    • Bi-weekly reviews from manager, working closely with an experiecne software developer, regular meetings with other people in the organisation to talk about my work.

    • I could always ask question from my colleage, a senior software engineer, about my work.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Nice work/life balance. Was a contractor, so taking days of or leaving early was up to me.

    • The development of the project was my full responsibility.

    • Learned valuable project management skills and development techniques.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Not much commotion (some like it that way) but you could always have a coffee break with someone to chat.

    • The project was a bit ambuiguos and requirements sketchy. But we worked together as a team to identify the main requirements of the product.

    • No official training given. But plenty of time to learn for myself.

    • I believe it is easy to return to Alstom, if positions are available.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Not much socialising besides work and company events.

    • Pretty cheap everywhere.

    • Never went out in Rugby.
