The Role
The people were really friendly, i was pushed and able to achieve a lot from the placement, but i had issues with a colleague at the start of the placement that was solved quickly and professionally
They always made me feel welcome and included me in conversations. They helped me when i had questions relating to their work and the office had a good atmosphere
I had monthly meetings where my progress was discussed and aims for the next month were set out for me to complete
Due to regular project work and daily jobs i was always busy
I was able to train other members of staff and create documentation for training purposes on my own
I have learnt a lot from my placement and it has helped me to develop in all aspects of my life, including; confidence, organisation and interpersonal
The Company
Although there was no music there was a constant flow of conversation and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing even when we were busy
With regular meetings with the line manager and been in the same office i had constant contact and was able to talk to him at any point about issues and set goals
The company arranged 4 different training sessions which included manual handling, time management, communication and presentation skills
Flexi Time
Company Car
National Travel
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
This would be a great organisation to graduate and get into
The Culture
There was only a few of us on placement and they went home most weekends but during the week we would go to the pub for a social drink
The area i lived in was great for commuting to larger cities like London/ Birmingham and it was cheap to travel too
It was a small town so no proper nightclubs, but plenty of pubs with good prices and nice food
There was quite an age gap between the students and those that worked full time so unless it was a student activity or student organised we didn't really socalise outside of work
