    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement as I was challenged on a daily basis. Even though at times it was extremely stressful, I can now see it has improved my commercial skills and I am far more confident working under pressure now.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team were very welcoming and even the senior managers and Directors are approachable, which is great considering it is an international business.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager changed twice during my placement which was a bit unsettling, but both managers were supportive. During my first few months it was difficult to get the level of support I felt I needed as my manager also had a job to do, but other members of the team were there to help as well.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was extremely busy on a daily basis at times, which initially was very stressful but I improved my time management skills and the ability to prioritise. I also became more confident seeking advise when necessary.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was responsible for managing two key accounts for my placement, which included both client and candidate contact on a daily basis.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I received great transferrable training on dealing with candidates which I could apply to other similar roles beyond my degree. I have gained confidence and the ability to liaise with senior members of staff in a professsional manner.
