  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • 4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • 3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Management had relatively little technical knowledge of my specific role so it was hard for them to provide meaningful support/guidance.

  • I felt that my team were understaffed for parts of my placement

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • 4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Did not receive much useful training or gain any extra qualifications from my placement. Role was too technical for helping me with my degree and what I would like to do in the future.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company provides a formal review of development and targets twice during the year but I did not find these very helpful

  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I do not think the company would be a great place for someone looking for a technical IT job. Many of the technical jobs at Eli Lilly were being outsourced while I was working there.

    1/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are around 20-30 placement students doing IT and management roles at Eli Lilly in Basingstoke and the social scene was excellent.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Basingstoke is not great for nightlife. Reading is quite near and has good nightlife though not excellent.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were many social events organised by placement students at Eli Lilly but few organised by the company.
