The Role
The scope, volume and relevance of the work was ideal. The other interns and graduates were a pleasure to work with and i was treated like one of the team.
I was very rarely treated like an intern (or even a graduate!). My work was valued just as much as the rest of my team's work.
I felt like i was given a lot of responsibility, but there were clear support mechanisms available if i needed them.
The work level was quite sporadic, and difficult to get a hang of in the first few weeks. You do, however, soon learn to cope with the work, and therefore are able to ask for more when necessary.
I was given the lead on a number of sub-projects which was great experience.
This was very useful not only in improving my knowledge of the FSA, but also in giving me invaluable skills for use in the workplace and in my third year studies.
The Company
Most of the office were based elsewhere during the week, but i was busy enough to be out of the office too! When people were around, everyone was lovely.
There was reasonable effort made to ensure the interns were clear about the processes involved in the internship. However, other team members were not always so clear and this sometimes caused misunderstandings.
There was little formal investment, but development sessions were organised for interns, and interns were fully eligible to sign up for and attend all personal development sessions available to wider employees.

If you perform well, you are very likely to be recommended for a role within the organisation. They are also quite flexible about deferring a year for further studies etc.
The Culture
Great mix of people and a good number!
Canary wharf is very pricey, but as students, we found ways to do it on a budget!
Lots of lovely bars and many clubs easily reachable in London
Extensive networks exist within the organisation and interns were fully advised to get involved.
