The Role
Looking back on my placement, I think I will genuinely miss it when I return to my degree! The people 'make' the placement, and the team have been absolutely brilliant!
My department has been great in showing their recognition and appreciation; you really feel like your effort has been noticed and valued.
The managers are really approachable, and offer support at every opportunity. Weekly catch-ups help reinforce their offer of support and guidance - they are happy to help!
The role can be quite demanding, in terms of workload, but I think this isn't a bad thing - it can help develop your ability to time-manage and prioritise!
As a placement student, I think it's really important to have responsibility; to feel like the company trusts you to perform a role within the business, and do it well. This re-inforces the pride you take in your job, the dedication you apply, and also strengthens your loyalty to your team. In addition, I feel like being given these responsbilities strengthens your CV, and your 'on-the-job' experience.
RM are outstanding for personal development - they cover everything from presentation skills, through to understanding our personal role in teams (and how to maximise team performace as a result). These are valuable transferable skills, that I think will be very useful for my last year of uni.
The Company
I think the atmosphere was just right - people are hard at work, but it was light hearted, and people are really approachable when you have questions.
No complaints here!
As I've mentioned previously, RM are absolutely dedicated to personal development, and as they treat their placement students like graduates, you get to experience the full development 'programme'. It's incredible how much attention is placed on it, and by the end of the placement, I feel like I have benefited immensely from it.

I'd love to come back and work for RM again!
The Culture
There were plenty of nights out and meals to get involved with, if you wanted to.
I'd say the cost of living was around 'average' (nowhere near as expensive as London!)
We're in quite a rural area - but with Oxford and Reading a stone's throw away, this isn't really a problem!
Placement students were considered as part of the 'graduate' intake, so there were often evening/weekend events going on, plus there were events going on with the deparment.
