  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A very positive experience overall

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At no point was i made to feel like anybody's minion. Everyone was very friendly and took the time to get to know me

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support and guidance was overall very good. My supervisor was very approachable and always happy to have a chat.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were always tasks to do, so i was never bored.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Although i wasn't given particularly high profile tasks, all of the work that i did was important in the commercial transactions the firm was undertaking.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel that having the opporuntity to see how a commercial law firm works day to day will be very useful in deciding my future career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Although everyone in my office works extremely hard there was always a pleasant atmosphere and people would be happy to chat for a few minutes about whatever was on their mind.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Overall the placement was well organised. There were one or two technical/IT problems but these were beyond the company's control.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The placement was only short so there was not much time for training. However the company did do their best to teach us about the firm.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing - i hope to be awarded a training contract.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were lots of social events at which everyone made you feel very welcome.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Edinburgh is an expensive city.

  • Lots of bars/clubs around

  • Not apart form the social events.
