    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Was a good and valuable experience. They treated me as a normal co-worker from day 1.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Some cool people, had usually some events (drinks or lunch), every now and then, during or after work going on

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support was alright, though I definitely had to find out a lot of things out on my own and be responsible for it (usually more in a good way).

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Was a good amount of work and I usually could arrange the time myself, though a few time I had to wait on some people for a while

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I basically had to manage and make almost all decisions myself, which was on the one hand really really good, but on the other hand I also felt a little bit lost from time to time, but overall I really enjoyed that it was that way and learned a lot.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learned a few things here, I never imagined I would learn. Time will tell, if the things I learned here will be useful for my future degree, but it is certainly useful for future work in that area and general knowledge about how the business works.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I worked in one big office, so if something was going on everyone knew about it instantly, which was a good thing. Well, it probably was also a "bad" thing, but certainly not for me. Also we listened to music most of the time and people were really relaxed

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Some people would probably rate it lower, but I kind of liked it that way. The first few days we didn't really had much to do, since the apparently weren't fully prepared for us but after that period it went quite well. As mentioned, I got treated like a normal co-worker and worked on something completely new, so of course there were some roadblocks every now and then. But that seems to be just normal in real life.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Well, we had a short training at the beginning and from then onwards I had to train everything myself, which was alright considering the size of the company, but yeah could have been better obviously.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They would probably have a job, but I want to develop into other areas in the future.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was just on other intern and a few apprentices. I sat next to the other student/intern, so we got really close.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Well, I still stayed at student accommodation over the summer (work was close to that), and London prices are London prices, so definitely not cheap.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • A lot of cool pubs, some clubs, depending on the taste I would say for most people something.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not really, we had a few activities together and that was it.

    2/5
