    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship was very enjoyable and genuinely provided an accurate refelection of what trainee life in a City firm is like.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Whilst I had initially thought that I would be doing menial tasks, I was surprised to find that I could be challenged if I so requested.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support and guidance from my trainee buddy was excellent. Much will depend on the enthusiasm of the person allocated to you and it helps if you get along but I was pleased with mine.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Surprisingly, I was very busy. The shceme is structured in such a way that stretches you for time.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Whilst some of the work I produced was used, I wasn't given that much responsibilty. Understandably, they can't give vacation students big ticket work.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think so, they will definitely improve my ability to get things across succintly.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere is very friendly, there is a lot to be said for being normal and I think the firm has some pretty down to earth staff. It was also very professional, no less than you would expect from a city firm.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Due to the recent merger it could have been organised a bit better, we felt like ginuea pigs at times.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Understandably, they all had things to do so I didnt really expect much one to one tuition.

    2/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I'm still unsure, the assessments were conducted in a manner that made it difficult to guage how you did.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I think the firm made an effort to invite similar people on to the vacation scheme. Increasingly, I notice different firms have a similar set of character traits in staff.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I live in london so wasn't too much of a commute.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Although I haven't been out in a while!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, If ou want them. I's entirely up to the individual.
