Overview
We had division-specific talks and interactive sessions on how the bank works, as well as networking with the staff. There was a bit of assessment centre training as well as a social to network with other students selected for the placement.
Skills
I have gained a lot more exposure to the industry and learned a lot about technology in particular since that was the division I applied for. Speaking with the managing directors gave an unparalleled insight into the day in the life of an employee.
Business Insight
I enjoyed it, but since my division was quite tech-focused I find myself wanting to stay within tech. That said, I was intrigued by the use of AI in their systems and would like to pursue that.
Culture
It was very friendly and positive, with their 'speak up' culture.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it as it was my first direct insight into the industry so to be able to connect with like-minded people and people with established careers in finance and technology was a fantastic opportunity.

Understand the values of the bank as well as show passion for the industry whether that be for some research, case studies and other projects.
