    The Role

  • Really dynamic and a very enthusiastic team to work with! Great sense of community and belonging. Oppurtunity to take on REAL resposnsibility and work on great projects! Great oppurtunity to get involved with other departments as well, which enables you to get an understanding of the company and career options for the future.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • All the time..even down to receiving opinions about university module choices and dissertations! Line managers are approachable and willing to share their "gold nuggets" of wisdom and are very knowledge of the indusrty. Diagonal slices (meetings) enabled us to intereact with senior managers and ask them questions/concerns we had about the organisation.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At times yes I did get really busy but that is beacause you are given real work with real deadlines! The work is important, so bevause I have learnt that attention to detail and accuracy is important I worked maybe one or two hours after 5pm. Besdies those hadnful occasions, it was a perfect balance.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Nearing the end of my placement I was given a new Trade Club sales campaign to manage! Additionally my opinion were counted during department meetings and when launching two Retailer Incentive Programmes. At Vauxhall your opinions count and there is definitely oppurtunity to leave your mark!

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt more during this placement year than I have the last two years of university. Practical experience is the best. My role has allowed me to gain understanding of the automotive aftermarket as I have been involved within all Aftersales Channels, giving me a broader understanding of how the business operates. The exposure of the industry has greatly influenced my career and educational goals.
