    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • As part of the internship I took part in a team project in the retail sector, taking part in team discussions and regularly presenting our work to our project mentor. Finally, we presented our solutions to the client and I personally responded to questions regarding client pain points. Additionally, as part of some ‘side of desk’ work, I took part in formatting and creating parts of a slide deck for a satellites project in the space innovation center part of the business.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Most importantly, I would say I learnt how to network effectively. What I mean by this exactly is: I was able to make contact and speak with people who would be able to have the greatest impact on my career in the future, in terms of the career path that I would like to pursue at Accenture. Additionally, this is probably a skill that most management consultants have to attain very quickly, but I also became very effective with creating PowerPoint slides and conveying the message required for each slide.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • From the start, we were told to network with as many people as we could from the business, and this proves extremely helpful as different people were able to provide different perspectives. I was able to find out about many different parts of the business which I would not have expected to exist, having not made these connections. This excited me for a potential return offer as there are now currently lots of different parts of the business that I would like to work in.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture is generally very positive and it is nice to be surrounded by such helpful and also talented people. This really makes the experience a whole lot more enjoyable. In my experience, I didn’t come across someone who was not helpful or not willing to lend a helping hand, and I really the people that I had coffee chats with seemed to be willing to provide lots of information regarding the work they were involved in.

    Your Impressions

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

  • 7. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture
  • I would say to make sure that you are confident and believe that you belong at Accenture is one of the main things. If you do not believe that you belong at Accenture you will not be able to make the right connections and this will really halt you from creating a network that allows you to excel in your career. Additionally, I would say to make sure that you communicate with your project team as the outcome of your project really depends on this.
