The Role
Looking back on my time here, it was definitely an enjoyable placement - hard work with lots of ups and downs but worth it!
The people in the office are all great and made me feel very welcome and valued. I will definitely look to stay in contact with them in the future...
The support is there for you when you ask for it however you need to make sure that you admit that you need help and be proactive about the situation rather than expecting help to come to you.
The workload is extremely varied. When it's quiet it's very quiet but when it's busy there is a lot to do and there may be the need for a lot of extra hours.
Towards the end of my placement I have had responsibility for a lot of key projects but obviously as in any job you need to prove that you can be trusted with this before it is assigned to you.
Core business skills such as purchase orders and invoicing that I have learnt here will be vital in my future career.
The Company
Great! A very fun and informal office to work in with lots of friendly people.
A lot of support provided by the team. Would be seamless however some of the initial presentations given by the company were irrelevant and I believe that time could have been spent on additional training!
There is an extensive training programme at the beginning of the placement which you also have chance to help out with whilst training your replacement placement students at the end of the year.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing place to work however not for me as I would like a job that involves more travelling.
The Culture
Great social scene. It is a large placement scheme so at least 100 other undergraduates to make plans with!
Cheap area and regular student nights out.
Multiple clubs and bars in Bedford and Luton is always up the road if you wanted something bigger!
Regular social events such as football, Alton Towers trips etc organised as well as office drinks.
