Overview
I primarily sat with my principal and assisted with trainee-level tasks. In the first two weeks we also had scheduled sessions - primarily practice insight talks.
Skills
Developed time management, communication, and networking skills. Learnt new legal research skills, and developed an understanding of what kind of information would be pertinent to lawyers depending on the matter. This allowed me to produce more concise work in a more time-efficient manner.
Business Insight
I learnt a lot about the business and what roles were important outside of fee-earning positions.
Culture
The culture in my group was very welcoming and collaborative. For the most part, all trainees and associates were interested in my experience and offered their time and assistance. Some partners were less welcoming but no one was explicitly unfriendly.
