Overview
Day-to-day tasks involved carrying out research for fee-earners, shadowing supervisors during team/client meetings and attending insight ‘Focus On’ sessions where few-earners at the firm detailed their daily tasks and explained how their department operated.
Skills
Yes! I gained invaluable insight into the way the firm operated and its culture, and developed research/communication/time management skills.
Business Insight
Encouraging - the firm was great at highlighting potential career paths, and made it seem as though they would genuinely support us as we climbed through the ranks.
Culture
Very warm and friendly - there were occasions where I had a conversation with somebody only to later realise they were a partner, and nobody I spoke to was unwilling to take the time to help me learn.
Your Impressions
I loved the scheme, and it only served to reinforce my belief that TW was the firm for me. The culture, warm relationships with the other vac schemers, and effort clearly put into the scheme’s organization all contributed to this.
Yes
Be honest and open about yourself and your passions when applying - TW genuinely cares about you as a person, and there are plenty of interest groups within the firm.
